The use of an enema is an important part of Ayurveda
Enemas were and are being applied a lot in popular medicine. It is being applied in order to clean the large intestine, in order to improve digestive problems and to loose waste material in a natural way. It can be seen as an 'Inner self purification'. It’s alleged to not only clean your intestines, but also to improve your state of mind.
The Vati (enema) is an important part of the Ayurvedic medicine. Ayurveda is a 5000 year old Indian medicine, which over time is always practical applied in India. The word "Ayur" means "life" and "Veda" means "knowledge". Ayurveda means "knowledge of life".
What is an enema?
An enema is a bowel cleansing or bowel swill. Via a special bag with a tube there is water (possibly with additions) through the anus into the colon. This will cause the existing waste and old feces soaked of the gut wall loose.
